			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When all your kids are school age, and your husband works an un-traditional schedule, you can do fun things, like go snowboarding on a weekday!</p>
<p>We signed up for a snowboarding lesson through Park City.&#160; It was a gorgeous day, probably 40 degrees and blue skies.&#160; We had 5 people in our class. We learned some turns and how to get up when we fall (which was often).&#160; We did well, but my tail-bone is so bruised I can hardly sit!</p>
<p>What a workout! We can’t wait to go back with the kids.&#160; They are excited to return, but we figured we better learn before we go with them, because of course..we’re going to want to give them advice on the mountain. But most likely, they will be the ones giving us advice!</p>

I feel the need to document the things that keep me physically and mentally healthy.&#160; I feel the need to write, and in the process, find myself.&#160; In the words of Brad Wilcox,</p>
<p><em>“A journal is a perfect place to think, feel, discover, expand, remember, and dream…</em></p>
<p><em>Journals make it easy for me to look back over my own life and see the progress I am—or am not—making. They can motivate me to stay on course or make positive changes”.</em></p>
<p>To write of daily experiences on living a healthier, fuller, more elevated life, will allows me to become more aware of those events in my life.&#160; And so it begins, my personal record as a web log…..&#160; </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My poor husband worked so hard, and the scale did not budge for him at all!&#160; In his defense, he was already really, really healthy, and LEAN! So, I wasn’t much surprised.</p>
<p>For me, before Body For Life and weights and at the time I measured, my weight was 123, body fat 23%</p>
<p>After 121.5 and 20.89%.&#160; The interesting thing the calipers did was Triceps before 17 points, after 12!!! But thighs, before 25 points, After 25 POINTS!!&#160; I also lost one point from the ab measurement! How typical is that for me!!! SOOOO typical. I lose so much upper body weight, yet will always be “curvy” as he (my husband) likes to say.</p>
<p>So, that is it for this blog for now!! I’ll be dreaming about my new book shelf he has to build because I won!!!</p>

<p>I ate super well today.&#160; Started the morning with 40 minutes of cardio. It was tough though because I was super sore from a lower body Monday workout.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I need a new reason to keep eating well! To not pig out! To care about my health. To not feel sick when I climb into bed at night (which is what happened the last TWO nights!</p>
<p>The motivation for me two months ago, and the turning point in my healthy attitude, was the real possibility that I would soon be an RD, beginning the Masters program in nutrition, and I really wanted to look like a person someone would seek out nutrition advice from! You know, really fit and awesome.&#160; It was amazing how this changed my entire attitude about food!&#160; I wanted to model the behavior I would soon be teaching.&#160; </p>
<p>But it changed slowly when I didn’t get it.&#160; I was able to keep it up for a little while, but slowly, I started to get lazy.&#160; Never about the exercise….I LOVE to exercise.&#160; But lazy about a nibble here, a nibble there… “Just one cookie” etc.&#160;&#160;&#160; </p>
<p>I am digging deep… searching my soul for a lasting reason.&#160; The reason ought to be, my body is a gift from God!&#160; A temple to be respected and taken care of.&#160; That should be reason enough, right?</p>

Just so I make sure to get some of those vital things.&#160; I added POM juice in it (they sent it to me to review on my kids blog). And it was super yummy.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So, my camera was out of batteries today, so no photos.&#160; Sorry.&#160; But this way I will tempt no one with taffy or granola bars:)&#160; Actually… I didn’t have a granola bar today! Hooray, but I did eat taffy.</p>
<p>5:00am Lower body workout.&#160; It was great.&#160; A bunch of walking lunges, squats, leg presses, and abs.&#160; Also about 40 minutes cardio.</p>
<p>7:30&#160; Egg whites, mushrooms, feta cheese, and Ezekial bread (this loaf has lasted me forever!!)</p>
<p>11:00Cottage cheese pancakes AGAIN! These will never get old.&#160; Plus a roll from last night.. mmmm. </p>
<p>2:00protein bar and 3 taffy’s</p>
<p>3:00 apple’s and peanut butter</p>
<p>5:00 Mashed sweet potatoes and some ham.&#160; I cooked a ham all day in the crock pot.&#160; Normally, I do not eat ham.&#160; But the pig was local, organic. I knew he was fed well, and he was very lean.&#160; </p>
<p>Anyway, till tomorrow.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Saturday and Sunday I did not take pictures, track my eating, or eat every few hours.&#160; I’m not even sure what I ate now that I’m reflecting.&#160; But Monday was a new day.</p>
<p>Part of my disregard for healthy eating and consciousness was that I got a letter from the U saying I was not considered for a spot in the Nutrition Masters program because I had unfinished pre-requisites.&#160; Which on a normal year may not have been an issue, but due to the high number of qualified applicants, they only chose those people who were finished.&#160; I was only upset because I really wanted to get started and for some reason speed through life.&#160; But looking at the bigger picture, I really have no reason to be in a hurry.. I have nothing but time.&#160; And my family (mostly TJ, who is 7) really isn’t ready for me to be in school that much.&#160; So, I’ll slowly finish my current courses (two of them are independent study classes anyway), and try again next year.</p>
<p>But, yesterday, I was over it (I recover pretty quickly) and my eating was great!&#160; I started with 45 minutes on the stairmaster, and met Eliece for lower body weights.</p>

<p>I woke up early for weights this morning.&#160; But first did about 15 minutes on the stair stepper, just to warm up and read more about Serine Proteases.&#160; But then my friend Eliece met me for the weights.&#160; We did </p>
<ul>
<li>barbell chest press and dumbbell fly</li>
<li>Dumbbell shoulder raises then overhead press</li>
<li>Compound row and lat pull down</li>
<li>Tricep extension and tricep dips</li>
<li>barbell bicep curls, hammer curls</li>
</ul>
<p>We definitely fatigued with each exercise!</p>
<p>For breakfast</p>
<p>Egg whites, black beans, ezekial toast</p>
