<p>Looks like I’ll be adding Almonds to my list of foods I can not keep in the pantry.&#160; Too bad, because Almonds are so healthy.&#160; But I completely lack self control around these things. I have no idea how many I actually ate.&#160; I’m making my husband take the rest to work today.</p>
<p>Here is my list of foods I can not buy for the same reason:</p>
<ul>
<li>Trailmix (the one with the M&amp;M’s)</li>
<li>animal crackers</li>
<li>vanilla wafers</li>
<li>Resees Puffs cereal</li>
<li>Ritz Crackers</li>
<li>any box of cookies</li>
<li>And now… Almonds.</li>
</ul>
<p>So, for Monday- I started off well.&#160; I had a 30 minute run on the treadmill (although it’s gorgeous outside… but I was meeting a friend at the gym). Then we did our upper body weights.</p>
<p>I got home, and around 7:00 ate egg whites, mushrooms and toast</p>

<p>Then, at 2:30- I was in class , so I slowly ate&#160; a bar:</p>

<p>Then at 5, I ate this great dinner.&#160; Some local beef, a potato, and green beans.</p>

I ate chicken, sweet potato, carrots, and strawberries.</p>
<p><a href="http://mom.superhealthykids.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/DSC_2070.jpg"><img style="border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: block; float: none; margin-left: auto; border-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border-right: 0px" title="DSC_2070" border="0" alt="DSC_2070" src="http://mom.superhealthykids.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/DSC_2070_thumb.jpg" width="244" height="164" /></a> 2 hours later, hungry already, I decided to make another one of the protein puddings.&#160; Fat free-sugar free pistachio pudding, mixed with 1% milk and 1 scoop protein powder.&#160; This is one of the few ways I’ll eat protein powder.&#160; I HATE it in oatmeal.&#160;&#160; I don’t think I could ever drink it mixed with water.&#160; But pudding and smoothies are my only way I can stomach it right now.</p>

<p>OK, finishing up.. these actually don’t look like big meals.&#160; I perceived things way differently while I was eating I guess.</p>

		<title>Thursday- Friday. Body for life day 39 and 40</title>

My problem in life is balance.&#160; When I have something important to do (such as study for a big test), I can not do ANYTHING else until that thing is over.&#160; All my energy goes into that one thing.&#160; I can never study for an hour a day, and do other things in life that are important… like laundry!&#160; No, I study for hours and hours until the test is over. Then I don’t open my text book again till it’s time to get ready for the next test.&#160; Definitely my biggest downfall in life.</p>
<p>So, Thursday, I was getting anxious with too little time… So I actually only did the 20 minute cardio.&#160; I worked out hard. Sweated a lot, but I felt guilty that it was so few minutes of exercise.&#160; </p>
<p>Then for breakfast… this hard boiled egg thingy in a whole wheat tortilla.&#160; Plus a banana:<a href="http://mom.superhealthykids.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/DSC_1870.jpg"><img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: block; float: none; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin-left: auto; border-left-width: 0px; margin-right: auto" title="DSC_1870" border="0" alt="DSC_1870" src="http://mom.superhealthykids.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/DSC_1870_thumb.jpg" width="244" height="164" /></a></p>
<p> Then I drove up to Salt Lake for a training meeting (for my church calling), with my presidency.&#160; I snuck this protein bar during the meeting.</p>

Those pictures are awful.&#160; Here is something I learned from Dr. Fuhrman.&#160; Once I ate that cookie, I wanted MORE treats the rest of the day. I was foraging around the house.. trying to get something sweet.&#160; It was horrible.&#160; Just that one cookie, sent me into a frenzy.&#160; I ended up eating a few handfuls of cinnamon chips (Hershey’s.. intended for cookies), and a few taffy’s.&#160; Those are for Easter and I keep dipping into them!&#160; I shouldn’t have eaten the cookie!&#160; Of course I didn’t take pictures of the stuff I ate on an impulse!</p>
<p>Later though, I had a Kashi bar.</p>

<p>Then Friday- GREAT WORKOUT!!&#160; I met my friend at the gym.&#160; We did 10 min. interval’s on the treadmill, then barbell squats.&#160; 10 min. Intervals on the stairmaster then lunges.&#160; 10 minute intervals on the bike, and then ab exercises.&#160; Then a 10 minute cooldown on the treadmill.&#160; We were sweating hard!&#160; We intentionally don’t do calve exercises. I hate them, and my calves are already pretty huge! I do not need them getting bigger!</p>
<p>Before working out, I had a hard boiled egg and a banana</p>

<p>The next meal I had a turkey sandwich, which was yummy!&#160; And strawberries</p>

<p>Then I got snacky as I tried to study.. Popcorn!&#160; Which I should have avoided. I really want to cut back on salt more.</p>

Plus some rice and corn.&#160; </p>
<p>This weekend will be tough.&#160; Easter becomes a two day festival around here.&#160; Day 1 , fun, neighborhood stuff.&#160; Sunday, Family parties (we have TWO).&#160; I am only going to have ONE free day! I prefer it to be Sunday family party day, because the food will be so much better than candy Saturday! </p>

Its so much easier that way, although I feel like I’m not working out hard enough as when I use free weights.&#160; </p>
<p>I got home, out of eggs! Bummer! I think I’m getting addicted. The problem (not really a problem) is that the kids love eggs too.&#160; We go through a lot of eggs.&#160; So instead I had my favorite standby; cereal with yogurt!</p>

On the way I ate an apple.</p>

<p>Then, when I finally got home, I made this dish! It was so easy! So yummy, so fast!&#160;&#160; I modified it from the Eating for Life book:</p>

<li>1/2 cup sour cream</li>
<li>dash of cumin</li>
<li>splash of lime juice</li>
<li>can of black beans</li>
<li>can of corn</li>
<li>can of shredded chicken.</li>
</ul>

Can you tell I really like my own cooking?&#160; Kind of a bad thing, cause I eat everything I make!&#160; I could never work in a bakery!&#160; Anyway, it was tamale pie.&#160; Corn bread, lean ground beef, kidney beans.&#160; </p>
<p>That’s it for now. I am NOT working out tomorrow.&#160; I am so exhausted from working out this week.&#160;&#160; Have a great weekend!</p>

Maybe a lower calorie protein bar?&#160; Something!</p>
<p>My workout- 30 minute intervals around the track behind my house. (photo obviously taken in the spring.) I love the track, because if the kids need me, they can just walk out back and get me.</p>

<p>But it will not derail me! Yesterday morning, I got up extra early.&#160; I was at the gym by 4:45am.&#160; I did upper body strength training, and 45 minutes on the stair stepper while I studied for my Nutrition test.</p>

Although I really love running in the quiet of the morning, I may have run faster if I had some tunes.&#160; I did run in intervals, but was somewhat sporadic about it.&#160; You know when you think…<em>I feel great, I’ll run faster</em>, and then, <em>I’m tired, I’m slowing down</em>. <p>After Sarah’s, another Protein bar.&#160; These were the best price of protein bars for the amount of protein in contains.&#160; (we found them at Costco), But in the past, I would have never eaten a meal replacement bar that contained 300 calories! It just seemed way to high.&#160; But it hasn’t affected my weight loss in anyway way.&#160; So, I’ll just keep eating them for now.</p>

<p>I’m still 121 lbs.&#160; I know it isn’t much, but I’m 5 foot 1, and carry all of that 121 lbs in my butt.&#160; So, instead I’m keeping measurements.&#160; 2 weeks ago, My hips measured 39 inches.&#160; Now, under 38 inches, in just two weeks.&#160; Mostly water I’m sure, but I’m thrilled, and it feels great!</p>

Title enough? I don’t know what I’m talking about.&#160;&#160; I’ve been up since 4am.&#160; Now I’m waiting for my evening class to start, and so I’m a bit loopy!</p>
<p>I was at the gym by 5am. Much preferred. Especially being lame on the weights, I don’t need anyone watching!&#160; There were still quite a few people there, but not as many people as there were by 6.&#160; </p>
<p>So, I did an upper body weight routine.&#160; (Body for life style).&#160; Then I got on the elliptical for 30 minutes.&#160; Luckily someone left a SELF magazine for me to read. Whew!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We had a guest speaker in our Nutrition class today that talked about Malnutrition and international nutrition. The speaker was able to do her RD masters internship in GHANA! What an experience.&#160; Something a married mother of 3 in a masters program probably wouldn’t want to do.&#160;&#160; But, with Wade being a Nurse and me an RD it would be great fun to serve a humanitarian mission when we are older to some of these third world countries.</p>
<p>Workout:&#160; I did a lower body/ body for life workout, but I don’t think I lifted enough weight. I’m not even sore today, and I kind of wimped my way through it. </p>
<p>Breakfast: Camera battery dead… But oats and egg whites!</p>
