I’m Back

Monday morning- 1 hour cardio while I read at least 20 pages of bio chem. I understand that text book so much better on the treadmill, it’s crazy!  Then lower body workout, minus the calves of course.

For breakfast:  Eggs, mushrooms, on a whole wheat tortilla

DSC_2194 Snack, cottage cheese and peaches

DSC_2204 For lunch, and forgetting I already ate a whole wheat tortilla today, I had the tortilla, ham, lettuce, tomato, with fat free cream cheese. Then a banana

DSC_2205 DSC_2206 I ate a zone bar on my way to school

DSC_2169 As soon as I got home from school, I had this waiting for me in the fridge: Pistachio pudding with protein powder. I’m so glad I made that ahead of time, because generally I’d be savaging for food!

DSC_2207 Then, while I was preparing dinner, I ate a few little crackers with peanut butter on them.

DSC_2209 Then this super yummy chicken salad (with chicken from a Rotisserie chicken)

And if you are curious, it really is 3:30 AM! I had to get up because I have so much studying to do. I’m no good at staying up late to study (always in bed by 9), but I am really good at waking up early!  So, here I go…. Electron Transport chain, TCA Cycle, and glycolysis are my focus this morning!

Two things I don’t do well in body for life

They are #1: I don’t pay attention to portion sizes.  If I did, I may break free of this 122lb plateau I’ve been at practically the entire time.  But I like being “full”. And I am hungry, a lot.

#2 I don’t do strength training on calves! I can’t! My calves are already ENORMOUS!  And its mostly muscle, so don’t tell me strength training is going to make them smaller.  They just keep getting bigger.  I’ve never worn capri’s, and I have never been able to wear zip up boots… so I just don’t work them out.

Anyway.  Here are yesterday’s meals  (after lower body strength (minus calves) and 40 minutes on treadmill.

DSC_2160 That’s cottage cheese in there.

All the rest, I brought to school and either ate in school, or in the car.

8 More DAYS OF BIO CHEM

Sorry about the title, but that is the ONLY thing on my mind right now.  Cell membrane structure, active transport, Kreb Cycle, carbohydrate metabolism… But in 8 days it will finally be over.  I’m quite thrilled over it.

Mostly good day, despite a handful of these:

DSC_2150 But the rest of the day- 4 mile run, with 4 high points. I really took those high points to exhaustion. I felt great about it.

Then I got home and had MORE EGGS.  I am not sick of these. I love eggs!!  This time I put them in a whole wheat tortilla.

DSC_2141 The a quick snack before a church meeting.

DSC_2145 I had another one of these bars, but they aren’t very filling.

For lunch, some leftover roast on whole wheat bread and strawberries.

No more nuts

Body for Life, day Who knows what….

Looks like I’ll be adding Almonds to my list of foods I can not keep in the pantry.  Too bad, because Almonds are so healthy.  But I completely lack self control around these things. I have no idea how many I actually ate.  I’m making my husband take the rest to work today.

Here is my list of foods I can not buy for the same reason:

  • Trailmix (the one with the M&M’s)
  • animal crackers
  • vanilla wafers
  • Resees Puffs cereal
  • Ritz Crackers
  • any box of cookies
  • And now… Almonds.

So, for Monday- I started off well.  I had a 30 minute run on the treadmill (although it’s gorgeous outside… but I was meeting a friend at the gym). Then we did our upper body weights.

I got home, and around 7:00 ate egg whites, mushrooms and toast

DSC_2079 I’m trying to space things every 2.5 hours rather than 2.  So at 9:30, I ate a whole wheat chicken wrap with avocado and tomato, and some fat free cream cheese.

DSC_2135 Then, at noon, I whipped up some cottage cheese pancakes.  I would like to make them with a scoop of protein powder, but I’m too scared.  I’m been disgusted by protein powder in so many ways, that I’m afraid to add it to yummy pancakes.

Then, at 2:30- I was in class , so I slowly ate  a bar:

Then at 5, I ate this great dinner.  Some local beef, a potato, and green beans.

DSC_2137 And then ALL DAY, I ate these almonds. And I mean ALL day! I have no idea how many I ended up with!  ARGHHHH.
